PRESERVATION AND EXTENSION OF FEDERAL LEASES

    featuring Guest Speaker
    Jon Tjornehoj
    Attorney
    Shanor & Franklin

    CPLTA Credit  | CDOA Credit

Jon Tjornehoj (Turn-a-Hoy) is an attorney with over two decades of experience practicing natural resource law. He specializes in complex oil and gas title matters including federal exploratory units, secondary recovery units and energy development projects in urban interface areas. He takes great pride in producing a title product that is not only thorough and precise, but which communicates issues clearly and presents pragmatic and innovative solutions. He believes that title opinions should not be filled with legal jargon and unrealistic requirements. Rather, a good title opinion assists the client in identifying and assessing risk, and anticipates the challenges of title curative from the client’s perspective.

After completing law school at the University of Wyoming, Jon began his career at a major Denver law firm litigating federal public lands matters. That litigation background focused on NEPA compliance and FLPMA land planning disputes relating to energy development projects in Wyoming. Jon’s experience there later revolved around oil and gas asset transactions and title examination.

Outside of work, Jon enjoys playing guitar and mandolin with friends, and backpacking in the Rockies with his three sons.
